December 27, 2024 — Kathleen Kaminsky, MS, RN, NE-BC, senior vice president of patient care services & chief nursing officer at Englewood Health, has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the New Jersey Organization of Nurse Leaders (ONL NJ). This prestigious honor recognizes Kaminsky’s outstanding achievements at Englewood Health and her impactful contributions to nursing leadership at the state and national levels.
“Kathy's tenure at Englewood Health has been notable and illustrious,” Brandee Fetherman, MSN, RN, CCRN, SCRN, president elect of ONL NJ said at a ceremony earlier this week. “She has been recognized as a 2022 NJBIZ Healthcare Hero award winner and was a ONE Division Leader Award winner. Today, we were adding to her honors by presenting Kathy with the ONL NJ Distinguished Service Award for her service and dedication.”
With over three decades of service, Kaminsky has been a driving force behind nursing innovation and excellence at Englewood Health. As chief nursing officer, she leads more than 1,000 nurses, cultivating a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Under Kaminsky’s leadership, Englewood Health received a $10 million philanthropic gift from the Kaplen Foundation and its president, Maggie Kaplen. This transformative gift established the Kaplen Institute for Nursing Excellence, a hub for advancing education, mentorship, and research for nurses at all stages of their careers.
Kaminsky’s initiatives have contributed to Englewood Hospital’s five consecutive Magnet designations. She also spearheaded the development of an accredited nurse residency program, which has graduated 16 cohorts and recently introduced a specialty track in emergency medicine.
“I am deeply honored to receive this award from ONL NJ,” said Kaminsky. “Nursing is not just a profession but a calling, and I am fortunate to work alongside an incredible team at Englewood Health. Together, we have built a culture that prioritizes excellence, compassion, and continuous learning. This recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of every nurse who dedicates themselves to advancing patient care.”
In addition to her work at Englewood Health, Kaminsky is a board member of ONL NJ, where she advocates for healthcare policy, diversity, and the advancement of nursing across New Jersey.
The award underscores Kaminsky’s tireless dedication to shaping the future of nursing and healthcare, solidifying her legacy as a transformative leader.
