OB/GYN Group with 30-Year History in Bergen County Joins Englewood Health
January 3, 2025 — Englewood Health has expanded local access to high quality women’s health services with four well-known obstetrician-gynecologists joining its network of physicians serving northern New Jersey.
Located at 401 S. Van Brunt Street in Englewood, the practice, Englert, Tovmasian, DeSoyza & Shoshilos OB/GYN at Englewood (formerly Northern Jersey Obstetrics & Gynecology), has joined the Englewood Health Physician Network and offers comprehensive obstetrical and gynecologic care in a modern, convenient setting.
The practice has been serving the Bergen County community for more than 30 years and its physicians are well-established in northern New Jersey. They are accepting new patients to their practice.

The hospital has also been listed as a “Best Hospital for Maternity” by Newsweek.
“These outstanding OB/GYNs are tremendously compassionate toward their patients and are particularly sensitive to the unique needs of adolescents and older patients,” says Arthur Gross, MD, chief of obstetrics and gynecology at Englewood Hospital. “They see women for prenatal care, delivering babies, and postnatal care, and bring expertise in laparoscopic and robotic gynecologic surgery, including for the treatment of complex cervical conditions, ovarian cysts, and uterine fibroids.”

The obstetrician-gynecologists joining the Englewood Health Physician Network include:
Dr. Englert’s primary clinical interests are delivery; prenatal and postpartum care; endometriosis; uterine fibroids; ovarian cysts; and menopause. Dr. Englert received his MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He did an obstetrics and gynecology residency, and was chief resident, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he also received the Onofrio Award for Surgical Excellence.
Dr. Tovmasian’s primary clinical interests are delivery; prenatal and postpartum care; abnormal bleeding; endometriosis; uterine fibroids; ovarian cysts; and menopause. Dr. Tovmasian received her MD from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She did an obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She is a member of the Armenian American Health Professionals Organization. In addition to English, Dr. Tovmasian is fluent in Armenian.
Dr. DeSoyza’s clinical interests are delivery; prenatal and postpartum care; abnormal bleeding; endometriosis; uterine fibroids; ovarian cysts; and menopause. Dr. DeSoyza received her MD from Downstate Health Sciences University College of Medicine. She did an obstetrics and gynecology residency at NYU Langone Medical Center. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Shoshilos’ primary clinical interests are delivery; prenatal and postpartum care; high-risk pregnancy; adolescent gynecology; abnormal bleeding; endometriosis; uterine fibroids; ovarian cysts; and menopause. Dr. Shoshilos received her DO from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. She did an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In addition to English, Dr. Shoshilos is fluent in Greek.
