About Robert A. Rizzo, MD
Dr. Rizzo, part of HVA Medical Group, is an attending physician in internal medicine at Englewood Hospital and at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center. He did his residency in internal medicine at Jersey City Medical Center. In 2006 the residents recognized him with the Teaching Achievement award, given to the attending who inspired them the most during their three years of training. Since 2008, Dr. Rizzo has been an assistant clinical professor at UMDNJ (University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey), where he trains first-year medical students. He particularly enjoys working with patients with diabetes, as it involves educating them about how to participate in their own care.
My goal as a primary care physician is to help people understand they can be more Involved in their health care. I want every patient to live as healthy as they can. I am privileged to be part of so many patients and families lives and I'm fortunate to contribute to their continued well-being.
