Dr. Vaimakis is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. She has dedicated her practice to bariatric surgery for the last 20 years with over 10,000 cases to date.  She was the first to perform robotic bariatric surgery Englewood Hospital and several other local hospitals.  She has been named to Castle Connolly Top Docs, Bergen's Best Top Doctors as well as Castle Connolly’s Exceptional Women in Medicine for the last 5 years now. Her practice specializes not just in offering the sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, lap band and revisional surgery but most importantly focuses on personalized one-on-one aftercare with the doctor to ensure long term success.
