Stephen Bischoff, MD

Dr. Bischoff received his MD from the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY, and completed a residency in psychiatry at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. As a senior resident supervising medical school students, he received the “Outstanding Teacher Award” from first-year psychiatry residents.

A board certified general psychiatrist, Dr. Bischoff was previously at Jersey City Medical Center, where he focused on the evaluation and treatment of adult psychiatric patients, including those in the addiction program. Prior to that, Dr. Bischoff was an inpatient psychiatrist with the VA New Jersey Health Care System. He has also been a consult-liaison psychiatrist at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and the New Jersey Psychological Association. He has also worked with the Closter Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Squad, responding to medical and psychiatric emergencies.
