Frequently Asked Questions About Maternity Care

How do I schedule a tour?

Expecting parents can register online for a small group tour of the Labor and Delivery Unit and Mother/Baby Unit at Englewood Hospital to explore our state-of-the-art facilities, meet our caring staff, and get a sense of what to expect, helping you feel more comfortable and confident when the big day arrives. You can also view our virtual tour for an overview.

Will I have a private room?

We have 21 spacious private rooms and three semiprivate rooms (for two mothers) in our Mother/Baby Unit. Private rooms are assigned when available, but cannot be guaranteed. If you are in a semiprivate room and a private room opens up, we will make every attempt to move you or your roommate.

Can my minor children visit me in the hospital?

Please see our Visiting Hours and Policies for detailed information about visiting the maternity unit.

Can I bring a doula?

Up to two designated support persons are permitted with a laboring mother. You are welcome to have a doula (birth coach) act as one of your support people, but that person must not interfere with the delivery.

Do you offer newborn portrait photography?

Yes. A professional photographer is available and will provide a complimentary photo as well as the option to purchase a package.

What if I have more questions?

If you have further questions, please speak to your obstetrician. You can also send us a message.
