Our relationship doesn’t end at discharge. The neonatal team will coordinate follow-up care with your pediatrician to provide complete continuity of care.

Premature and high-risk infants are followed by neonatologists to ensure babies receive all of the support, therapies, and services they may need for optimal infant development.

To help you transition to life as a new parent, be sure to review these additional resources. Should you have follow-up questions, please call the Mother/Baby team at 201-894-3153.

Breastfeeding Support

Be sure to review our resources for breastfeeding. For nonurgent breastfeeding concerns or questions, call our breastfeeding line, 201-894-3354, and a lactation consultant will return your call within 24 hours. If you need additional support, refer to the list of breastfeeding community resources provided to you during your stay.

Sleep Safety

It is important to provide a safe sleep environment for your baby. By placing babies on their backs to sleep for all sleep times, creating a safe sleep environment for baby, and following other recommendations, everyone who cares for baby can help reduce baby’s risk of SIDS and other sleep-related infant death, such as suffocation.
